Photographing a wedding at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts is truly a treat. If you’d like to host your wedding in a truly unique historic location and love the idea of being surrounded by amazing art, it might be a perfect wedding venue for you!
Chelsea and Palen wanted an elegant moody vibe for their celebration. PAFA provided a perfect backdrop! First, the couple had their ceremony on the Victorian grand staircase inside the Historic Landmark Building. After that, Chelsea and Palen and their guests enjoyed cocktail hour with access to PAFA’s galleries. As a surprise to her husband, Chelsea hired an amazing drumline band (Sixers Stixers) to take their guests to the Hamilton Building in a New Orleans’ style 2nd line for their reception. The expression on Palen’s face was priceless when he saw the band! Chelsea together with their amazing planner MUSA Weddings executed it perfectly.
The Hamilton Building gave Chelsea and Palen’s reception a more modern feel. Colorful florals designed by Heritage Gatherings and a unique floral cake by Butter Sugar Flour bakery complimented the artwork in the building perfectly! After dinner and dancing, the couple sneaked outside to enjoy a few moments together and share some champagne right on Broad St. with a perfect view of City Hall. That was one of our favorite moments for Chelsea and Palen’s celebration!
