Allison and Scott’s wedding was very special. We started the day with Allison and her bridesmaids getting ready at Sofitel in Philadelphia, then did some portraits of Allison and Scott and their bridal party and families around Rittenhouse Square and headed over to their beautiful venue, Stotesbury Mansion. Their intimate ceremony was followed by a cocktail-style reception with some amazing food and dancing, as well as some cigars and pool.

A few words from Allison and Scott about how the envisioned their wedding: “When we started planning our wedding, the first thing we did was book the venue. Stotesbury Mansion was definitely not what we were originally looking for (we were originally thinking of getting something more modern, like a loft space and DIY-ing more decor), but when we saw it we knew it was something special. The whole style and feel of the wedding really took shape around the mansion. We wanted to let the space speak for itself and design everything to compliment it. Since we’re both designers, it was fun trying to fuse this ornate and classic elegance with our modern aesthetic when it came to creating our invitations and the other little touches we put into the wedding. Since the venue mixes the old and new in its decor as well, it seemed like such a good fit!

Something else that made our wedding really special and unique to us was the style of catering we chose. We’re both big foodies, and we also love hosting parties, so we knew from the start that we wanted to create a reception where everyone got to try as much food as possible while enjoying a more relaxed space without formal seating so they could mingle and explore the beautiful venue. Our caterer actually specializes in the type of service that we were looking for, where they have multiple stations throughout the mansion serving a variety of small-plate items, that way you can sample everything from Peking Duck wraps to Penne served in martini glasses. It was exactly what we had imagined, and everyone had a blast dancing, socializing, and shooting pool between bites of delicious food!”
