Colorful alfresco DIY wedding of two artists at The Woodlands

This colorful alfresco wedding at The Woodlands in West Philly can be an inspiration to couples planning their celebrations in the time of COVID. Check out the Philly Mag feature for details of their story.

Lauren and Paul planned their wedding at the same spot where Paul had proposed a year before. The Woodlands might just be my favorite spot to get married. I might be biased though because I live in West Philly and love walking around this beautiful Victorian-era cemetery. Since they are both artists, they filled their wedding day with meaningful DIY details. Lauren made ceramic vases for their dinner centerpieces using a Philadelphia rock. Lauren and her mom crafted the centerpieces together using locally-grown flowers from Jig-Bee. Paul mixed up Fish House Punch for the cocktails and surprised Lauren at the reception by singing “My One and Only Love.”

Their outdoor dinner was catered by their favorite pizza truck, Pitruco. It was followed by an epic DIY DJ dance party. It was such a perfect day!
