Modern Fishtown wedding at Lilah

“It was important to us to get to be in the moment during our wedding, and Inna was so great about minimizing posed photos and focusing on candids. Neither my husband nor I are naturals in front of the camera, but Inna and Gene really helped us relax.” Emma and Nate

This modern Fishtown wedding at Lilah was colorful, natural, relaxed and so fun!

Emma and Nate wanted their wedding to be elegant, but also to feel easy and fun for their guests. In their initial email they mentioned their preference for candid photos so that they can be present with their friends and family. I immediately thought that we would be a great match because this lines up so well with our documentary approach! Lilah in Fishtown was a perfect venue that brought the couple’s loved ones together over delicious food and drinks.

The day started at WM Mulherin’s Sons, a boutique hotel just blocks away from Lilah. Emma and Nate got ready together and invited a few close friends to join them. After taking some relaxed portraits at the hotel, we headed over to Lilah. It started pouring right before we left, but Emma and Nate grabbed umbrellas and decided to walk to the venue anyway. Their rainy Fishtown walk ended up being of my favorite moments of the day.

We Are Wildflowers created a colorful backdrop for Emma and Nate’s ceremony. A very food-centric cocktail hour and reception followed (Lilah is the best!!!). Their band EBE Dreamtime made sure the party went on all night. Congratulations Emma and Nate!
