Fun and quirky MAAS Building wedding

It’s Alyssa and Kyle’s 1-year wedding anniversary today!!!! Seems like a perfect occasion to share some of our favorite photos from their colorful wedding in Fishtown.

I LOVED that Alyssa and Kyle described their wedding vibe as “fun and quirky” when they reached out! The couple, who are both creatives working in publishing industry, wanted to do a simple short ceremony and then have a fun cocktail-style reception with 45 guests in the garden at MAAS Building.

We got to know each other during their South Philly/East Passyunk engagement session. Alyssa and Kyle decided to do their engagement session at home chilling with their dogs and eating pizza. It was so fun to photograph them in their neighborhood!

MAAS Building is truly a hidden gem in Olde Kensington area. The building itself used to be a brewery, a trolley car repair shop and an architectural salvage space before the new owners restored it to its former glory. The best part is their urban garden with a cobblestone path, trailing vines, concrete planters and a fire pit. It’s perfect for a smaller, intimate celebration. Bonus point: tons of cool murals and colorful garage doors nearby for photos. We featured it in our 23 unique non-traditional wedding venues in Philadelphia blog post because it’s one of our favorites in Philly.

Being good food and wine lovers, Alyssa and Kyle had DiBruno Bros. cater their wedding. An amazing selection of wine was curated by Leon and Sons. Because Alyssa is a talented graphic designer, she was in charge of their invitation design and they were printed by Revival Letterpress. Alyssa wore a w.too by Watters dress from Lovely Bride and Kyle chose a dark green Indochino suit. Our favorites Vault and Vine provided colorful florals for the couple.

Our favorite parts of Alyssa and Kyle’s celebration were speeches (and performances!) by their talented siblings and fun DIY karaoke at the end of the night. And the fact that their 2 dogs made an appearance and posed for some photos!
