If you haven’t heard of BOK, this South Philly event space is a former vocational school that has been transformed into a very cool multi-use space. It’s one of the coolest and most unique wedding venues in Philly! It’s on my list of 23 unique non-traditional venues in Philly. The best part is their huge rooftop that has an amazing panoramic view of Philly. Needless to say that when Kathryn and Tim told me they chose BOK for their spring wedding, I was excited! Besides, Kathryn decided to get ready at The Deacon, a boutique hotel and event space in Graduate Hospital in a historic church building. What a dream!
We did the couple’s intimate first look and portraits at The Deacon before heading out to BOK. The beauty of BOK is that there are multiple cool spaces in the building that are available for photos (rooftop! auditorium! classrooms!) You can get a great variety of photos without leaving the building.
Kathryn and Tim got married in the auditorium and then had their reception at the gym. Jess from We Are Wildflowers created the most gorgeous colorful florals for the couple and decor for the reception. Kathryn looked stunning in her Sarah Seven dress from Lovely Bride! This dress was perfect for dancing on the rooftop at dusk. We sneaked out there for some evening portraits and it was perfection! We highly recommend taking a little break from your reception to reconnect with each other and take a few evening portraits.
