Annie and Alan had a modern stylish and a little non-traditional wedding at Power Plant Productions in the heart of Old City. They both got ready at Lokal Hotel (just blocks away from their venue!) It’s one of our favorite getting ready spots. Their rooms are beautifully designed and full of natural light. Bonus point, Annie got her hair done at Barnet Fair, which is next door, and Shimmer and Spice did her makeup. Annie’s bouquet and other florals were done by Vault and Vine. Annie and Alan decided to not have a formal wedding party but still wanted their best friends to get ready with them. I thought it was such a fun way to involve your closest people without all the responsibilities of being in your wedding party. I loved all of Annie’s girlfriends’ outfits and had so much fun photographing them! Annie gifted her ladies colorful wool socks that she had knitted herself! It was such an awesome touch! After some portraits in Old City, we headed to Power Plant Productions, a modern white brick loft space with an urban feel. When guests arrives, they were encouraged to have drinks and appetizers before the ceremony. That was another non-traditional aspect of the wedding that all the guests definitely appreciated. Towards the end of the ceremony, Annie and Alan had a champagne toast and they walked back up the aisle drinking champagne. That’s a good example of how you can really do whatever you feel like and what fits with your personalities and style on your wedding day. Their reception was cocktail-hour style, with no assigned seating. Power Events Catering kept bringing out small plates of delicious food throughout the night. With cocktail-style reception, guests have more freedom to walk around the venue, socialize and dance. Kim of No Macarena made sure that the dance floor was full all evening.
